We build the shelter people deserve.

Why are a stadium, a traffic jam or "shelter in place" the only options we get? X=42 is the option we should have had in 2005.

Most needy first

  1. People in danger during a national disaster

Every facility starts as permanent, armored emergency shelter. It's built before the disaster and it's there when the call comes. The outer wall is designed to stop a .50 cal round.
  2. The next most needy

Once people are safe, the facility adapts to whoever needs it most next: homeless people, veterans, people leaving prison. A real place to live, structure, training and a way to earn.
  3. Into the middle class

The goal isn't to warehouse anybody. It's to move people up and out, on their own feet, with ten years of support behind them.

We work with FEMA so FEMA can do its job better. We don't replace it. X=42 builds, owns and runs every facility, so the quality is the same everywhere.

Voluntary, and merit based

Nobody is forced into X=42. You choose to come in, and you can choose to leave.

Everyone carries a merit score. It starts with integrity, honesty and personal ethics, and your choices move it. That's how we decide who gets the next chance, and who we invest in.

How we get paid

Investing in people. This is our main revenue. Graduates share 2% of their income for 10 years, and they get 10 years of support in return. We only win when they do.

Emergency shelter capacity. Standby and surge contracts with FEMA, states and counties.

Other. Grants and corporate sponsors.

Funding the first facility

We're raising $30 million on Indiegogo: $25 million for the first facility and $5 million to stand up manufacturing.

Every dollar goes toward getting real shelter on the ground. Read the plan, find the flaw, and if it holds up, back it.
